Past-paper practice becomes much more useful when you can find the exact type of problem you need. This free AMC archive organises 2,325 problems from 93 AMC 8 and AMC 10 papers into a practical topic index, so students can move from a weak area to a real contest question without searching through dozens of PDFs.

Use the interactive index below to browse by topic or by paper. Add a difficulty band, choose an early or late question range, or search concepts such as circles, ratios, divisibility and counting. Every result opens the exact question and explanation on its credited source in a new tab.

What is included in the AMC past-paper index?

ContestPast-paper coverageIndexed problems
AMC 81985–20261,025
AMC 102000–2025, including A/B and the 2021 fall papers1,300
Total93 papers2,325

The question numbering and paper labels are preserved. That makes it easy to use the index alongside a printed paper, the downloadable AMC compendia in the Thriving Scholars portal, or a teacher-led review session.

Practise AMC 8 and AMC 10 by topic

The workbook classification covers 14 main topic families, including algebra, geometry, number theory, counting and combinatorics, probability, statistics, ratios and proportion, sequences and series, coordinate geometry, inequalities, polynomials, trigonometry, logic and functions. Problems with more than one relevant idea appear under each applicable topic.

How should you use the difficulty bands?

The five bands—Foundation, Developing, Intermediate, Challenging and Advanced—are practice labels from the supplied index, not official MAA ratings. Start with a mixed set to calibrate your level, then narrow the filter when you need confidence-building practice or harder late-paper questions.

A focused three-step AMC practice routine

  1. Choose one topic and attempt five questions without looking at the explanation.
  2. Review the credited solution, recording the key idea rather than copying every line.
  3. Return to the same topic after two or three days and attempt a harder question range.
